About Us

MyMovieRating is not just another movie rating website. Every movie in our database gets rated twice. Quality and entertainment are rated by a select group of movie specialists. MyMovieRating is Your new movie rating platform. You are just a few mouse clicks away from a unique new experience.

  • The Quality Rating is a good indicator of the quality of the movie, the actors and the director.
  • The Entertainment Rating is a good indicator of the degree of amusement that the movie will provide you with.

For both ratings, five stars (*****) is our highest rating, one star (*) is our lowest. Movies are rated against each other to the best of our ability. Don't contact us to complain that The Italian Job got a better entertainment rating than Titanic. Just write a review with your own opinion instead.

However, feel free to contact us by email with your questions, suggestions or remarks. You can express your opinion on our Facebook page as well.

Meaning Stars

The yellow stars we use in our rating system represent the quality or a certain movie, whereas the orange stars symbolize the degree of entertainment. We will further elaborate on the significance of the five-star system below.

4/104/104/104/104/104/104/104/104/104/10
Two hours of your life that you won't get back.

4/104/104/104/104/104/104/104/104/104/10
Not a total waste of time, if the viewing cost is low enough (free coupon, someone else is renting it and you happen to be around to see it).

6/106/106/106/106/106/106/106/106/106/10
Worth a rent.

8/108/108/108/108/108/108/108/108/108/10
Worth seeing in the theater, possibly worth purchasing (preferably secondhand or after a while so the price has dropped, but perhaps at full price if it's on the high side of four stars).

8/108/108/108/108/108/108/108/108/108/10
A keeper. Worth seeing in the theater if possible, worth owning at whatever price you think is reasonable.
